Our Weekly Meditation for The Week

March 3
Acting purposefully
“We deserve to see the other side — which is the highest version of ourselves.”
Being in our body when presented with difficult and painful circumstances is one of the greatest challenges in life. When we engage with ourselves, in body, mind and spirit — we create healthy relationships. This gives us a spiritual foundation to create our lives and act purposefully to maintain our peace and serenity from dysfunctional elements. Serenity is liberation.
Fear is an obstruction to serenity and within the Black American experience, it comes in many different shades and layers. The daily task of sifting through these layers can be exhausting and hinder our expansion.
When fear emerges in our bodies, we engage with the feeling and do not avoid it. If we avoid it, unhealthy behavioral patterns could emerge, and prevent us from becoming who we are meant to be. We deserve to see the other side — which is the highest version of ourselves. As an example, we all know that fear when we may be afraid to speak our truth.
We choose truth. This is a gift to ourselves and deepens our spiritual foundation, grounds us, and strengthens the ties of community which connects us to something greater.
Armed with this power of choice, we act with intent and discern with intuition what is right for us and what no longer serves us. This brings us closer to serenity which is liberation. We let go of dysfunctional elements and use our energy to create a world in our name with this newfound serenity.
On this day, I will act with intent by acknowledging the internal in order to build and create in the external.
